About

Growing Wellbeing for the Present and Future Environments

We are a group of academics, students and people who live and work in the London Bloomsbury and Kings Cross area. This blog is intended as a space to collect, document and reflect up wellbeing practices in relationship to mindful walking. We seek to explore the question what does wellbeing look like through a physical and sensory embodied practice? You can read more about the methodology here.

Over the next few months, we will undertake to design and facilitate 10 walks led by guides for anyone who would like to participate. It is free of charge and will take place in and around the Bloomsbury and Kings Cross neighbourhoods. We aspire to lead 150 people on differently themed walks. We will explore the following and sometimes overlapping themes through our walks: wellbeing, energy, waste, gardening, recycling, productivity, damage and enhancement. We invite participants and walk leaders to contribute with photographs, video's and voice notes to our social media and to engage together in dialogue about our activities.

Would you like to join one of the walks or receive more information? Send us a message!

This project is a collaboration between the UCL environmental planning unit, the global health unit and the Calthrope project. We are funded by University College London’s Grand Challenges Wellbeing Program.
